Most clinicians I meet already sense that talking is not reaching every client in front
of them. What they are missing is not willingness, it is a usable method and the
confidence to run it without an art therapy degree behind them.
That is what this training is for. Not art appreciation, and not a set of icebreakers.
Actual clinical technique, grounded in eleven years of using it with people in acute
distress.
What I run, and who it is for
Clinician masterclasses
Immersive sessions in non-verbal and creative therapies, aimed at extending the
clinical skill you already have rather than replacing it.
For psychologists, counsellors, social workers, occupational therapists, mental
health nurses and creative therapists.
Clinical consultation and mentoring
Ongoing consultation for practitioners bringing creative and neuro-affirming methods
into their own caseload, including thinking through specific clients and specific
stuck points.
Schools and community
Mental health education workshops and art therapy groups, including with rural
schools across NSW, built for the actual room rather than delivered from a deck.
Family and carer services
Sessions for services supporting families and carers, covering carer burnout,
regulation, and practical creative tools that survive contact with a real household.
The approach behind it
Everything is neurodiversity-affirming and nervous-system-first. The frameworks I teach
from are the ones I work with: the neurosequential model of care, acceptance and
commitment therapy (ACT), internal family systems, and narrative and somatic practice.
The bias throughout is towards things you can use on Monday. Theory is included because
it makes the technique make sense, not because it fills a morning.
Creative work is not a soft alternative to real therapy. Used properly, it reaches
things that talking alone does not.
Bringing a workshop to your service
I run sessions in person across NSW and online nationally, and I will shape the content
around the team rather than delivering a fixed package. Useful things to tell me when
you get in touch:
- Who is in the room, and what their disciplines are
- How long you have, and whether it is a one-off or a series
- What is not currently working with the client group
- Whether you want technique, framework, or both
Upcoming dates, and where to find them
Workshop dates and current program names change through the year. The most reliable
places to catch the next one are
Instagram
and
LinkedIn,
or you can email me and I will let you know what is coming up.
